About The Institute

Don Bosco Technical Institute, Kolkata was established in January 1965, for Catholic students and is owned and run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is a minority institution. However, the Institute admits youth of other religion too. It is affiliated to the National Council Vocational Training (NCVT), New Delhi, Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC), Sector skill Council and council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Besides this, Institute’s Own Diploma is offered in Mechanical Engineering Technician and Electronics Engineering Technician. The aim of the Institute is to impart sound Moral and Technical Training by facilitating in the young habits of piety, virtue, discipline, hard work and self-reliance during the years of their training. Thus preparing them to enter the industry as skilled craftsmen, thereby serving the country and fellow human beings. The method of education followed in the school is the system taught and practice by St. John Bosco. It is based on Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. The medium of instruction is English.
